The True Main. Terra or Celes? « Thread Started on Jul 23, 2009, 7:19am »
This is something that has been tickling my brain for a long time now. Who exactly was the main character of Final Fantasy Six?
Some may say it was Terra. She is the first playable character, and seems to clearly be the lead of the first half of the game. The story focuses most upon her in the first half, and she is in your party the most as well. Celes showed up several hours into the game, and her role in the story slowly grew more clear.
However, in the second half of the game, Celes is clearly the main character. She is the first playable character, and reunites all the others. She also plays a part in Locke's story, as well as a few others. terra, on the other hand, doesn't want to reunited at first, and once she does, she doesn't really play any role in the rest of the story.

To be honest, i dont think there really was a main character. You did start with Terra, and in the second half the game was more focused on Celes. I think the main story line -- in general was aimed toward those who were born with magic (Terra being an esper and celes being infused at birth) But mainly, everyone had their own stories and problems to fix which is what made ff6 an awesome game.
Also, Celes on the 2nd half had more of a vendetta against Kefka and she was the first person to really start looking for everyone else. You just kinda bumped into them at a neat time.

I'd say Terra because of the Whole Esper thing and War of the Magi. She was used to be the Empire's weapon. Her father is an Esper. I mean what more do you need?
